Concept/Choreography/Director - Maida Withers
The Dance Construction Company and Guests - Adrienne Clancy, Sasha Kukin, Iwona Olszowska, Lyndsey Karr, Joseph Mills, Lauren Sharp, Maida Withers

Part I:  The Sun - Projection of movies of the Sun taken by cameras on satellites
Part I:  Virtual Sun - Immersed in brilliantly colored projected virtual images, dancer, Joseph Mills, creates real-time interaction by using the wireless mouse.  Tania Fraga’s cyberworlds incorporate spectacular images of swirling gases and eruptions of the Sun provided by NASA, Lockheed Martin, the European Space Agency, and others.

Part II:  Solar Wind towards Magnetosphere
The company (6 to 9 dancers) penetrate and sweep through the space just as the driving, violent, raw energy of the Sun’s wind (solar wind) moves through space eventually bombarding and tearing through Earth's magnetosphere creating a repetitive “butterfly wings” formation.  Large-scale cyberworld images hover creating a projected backdrop responsive to the motions of the wireless mouse.

Part III: Magnetic Storm Seen from Above
A powerful male / female duet reveals the beauty and magic of the aurora suspended above the planet.  Projection of  astonishing images of the aurora shot by astonauts in spacecraft orbiting above Earth frames the continuous orbital path of the dancers. When the solar wind breaks through to near space, identical auroral “crowns of fire” at the north and south poles emerge. Three dancers move intricately finally arresting their movements as if  in the immense volume and silence of zero gravity of outer space.

Part IV: View from the Earth
As the work shifts to an earthbound vantage point of auroras' majestic lights, the company performs several short narratives based on century-old and contemporary myths humans developed to explain the mysterious sky paintings.  The company of dancers interact with the large-scale projection that combines, through technology, breathtaking movies of the aurora provided by Robert Eather and SOLARMAX IMAX, stunning auroral photographs, and delicate and illusive cyberworlds by Tania Fraga.  Maida Withers and Joseph Mills, dance artists, take on the role of contemporary shaman as they alter and interact with the projected environment using a wireless mouse.  In a gentle rain of reflective floating objects, the performance culminates in ascension, aspiration to push new boundaries into outer space.
